How wallticker works, end to end. The app speaks five languages; these help pages are English only.
Getting started
wallticker records what you actually did, not what you planned to do. Press Play in the header and the clock runs; press Stop and you have an entry. Everything else - the project, the client, the description, the tags - can be filled in later, or never.
Tracking time
The home page shows one period at a time in one of three views. The view switcher and the period control sit together in the toolbar, and both remember your choice on this device - so if you always work in Week view over a month, that is what you get back tomorrow.
Breaks
A break is its own kind of entry. It sits on the timeline like work does, so you can see when your day actually paused, but it is never added into a work total - not on the home page, not in a report, not in an export.
Fixing and finding entries
Nothing recorded in wallticker is final. Every entry can be edited or deleted from wherever you can see it, and there is no separate approval or lock step to work around.
Projects and clients
Four separate dimensions, all on one page, each in a section you can collapse. Which sections you leave open is remembered on this device.
Planning and time off
The Calendar page is where you say what a day is supposed to look like, before you work it. It shows a month at a time, with your planned hours, your recorded hours and your days off in the same grid, so a thin week explains itself at a glance.
Reports and exports
The Reports page answers where the time went, for any period you pick, using the same period and filter controls as the Entries page. Every number on it is built from completed work - a running timer is never included anywhere.
Google Calendar
If your day is already described by meetings, you can import them as time entries instead of retyping them. The connection is read-only: wallticker reads your events and never writes anything back to your calendar.
Bokio
If you invoice the time you track, wallticker can hand it to Bokio as a draft invoice instead of you retyping hours into an invoice form. It only ever creates drafts - you open the invoice in Bokio, check it, and decide whether to send it. Amounts are in Swedish kronor, creating drafts is part of Pro, and your Bokio plan has to include the Integrations (API) feature.
Shortcuts and search
wallticker is built to be driven from the keyboard. Single-key shortcuts cover the timer and moving around, and one chord opens a search box over the whole app.
Free and Pro
The free tier is a complete tracker, not a trial that expires. Pro adds the business layer on top - the parts you need when you are billing someone else for the time.
Settings and your data
Settings is seven pages on one rail. Changes are saved by a bar that appears when a form is dirty, and if you try to leave with something unsaved you are asked first rather than losing it.
