Shortcuts and search

wallticker is built to be driven from the keyboard. Single-key shortcuts cover the timer and moving around, and one chord opens a search box over the whole app.

• Anywhere in the app - S starts or stops the timer, B switches to a break, R resumes your last work entry with its project and tags, and question mark opens the full list.
• On the home page - N opens the Add entry dialog, the left and right arrows step the period you are looking at, T jumps to today, and V cycles the three views.
• Ctrl or Cmd with K opens the search palette from anywhere: type a word and it finds pages, settings, your own projects, clients, companies and tags, and these help sections.

Single-key shortcuts never fire while you are typing in a field, while a dialog is open, or when a modifier key is held - so they cannot interrupt you mid-sentence. You can turn them off entirely in Settings under Interface. The full list is always one click away too: the keyboard icon in the header on a computer, or the menu button on a phone - which matters if you have turned shortcuts off, because the question mark stops working with them.

Ctrl or Cmd with K is the one exception: it is a chord rather than a single key, it cannot collide with typing, and it keeps working even with single-key shortcuts turned off. The search also matches across languages - searching "semester" finds the vacation settings even with the app in English.
